Neanderthal Project

Ok, this is kind of funny.

July 12th, 2010

From the YouTube description:

“Gritty beauty and the beast love story based 30,000 years ago. Aruna Shields is strong, tribal woman, AKi, who saves the last neanderthal from extinction.

Budget $20million.  Produced by cinema chain UGC after oscar nominee.  A Prophet.”

[**It may be a very good film, and I would like to see it, however I must confess that there is a certain giggle factor involved in watching this trailer.]

Neanderthals had hideous teeth and gigantic jutting brows with no chins. The reason we know this for a fact is that the curators at the British Museum in the late 1800′s deliberately reassembled skulls with the brows brought forward, the chins pushed back and then reworked with heavy amounts of putty in order to support their homey Darwin, because he thought that must be the way that other prior races of men had to look.

I hate to rub it in but Homo Sapiens is a hideous creature compared with the average Neanderthal. 500,000 years of mate selection for symmetry tends to do a pretty good job of sculpting the human face into something astonishingly good looking. Recently assembled skulls without the agenda portray men and women who look both rugged and handsome as hell with nearly universal conformity. The ugliest Neanderthal would’ve likely had a career in Hollywood as one of their best looking men.
